1 Life, 1 Purpose, 1 Worship

That was the theme for Youth Camp this year. And more so importantly, the theme verse,

Romans 12:1-2

Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God. This is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longger to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you would be able to test and approve what God's will is, His good, pleasing and perfect will.

(that is if I remember correctly)

I am not one who write long-winded essay. So a few points to thank God for.

1) Kevin's prophetic prayer
During the 1st night session, I was suddenly reminded of the horror that I am going to face next year, the work, the new colleague, the financial strain, the commitments I have made... So I responded to the altar call. Kevin prayed for me, and was just a simple reminder of Jeremiah 29:11. He has a plan for me. The wonder of it is that I didn't tell Kevin this. Wow...isn't that wonderful.

2) Getting to know the 3 Malaysians who didn't understand much English
Being one of the few who spoke their language, I was naturally the choice to befriend them and translate things for them. I was with them for sermon, doing my first live translation. Though it was a bit awkward at times, especially when the speaker talks about BGR and erh hmm..sex, the little boy would look at me and asked, 'what is that?'...hmm... anyway, they acknowledged Christ as their Lord and Saviour in the camp. Praise the Lord. Next up, follow-up.

3) Unity within the camp.
Hard to explain, but I just felt this strong sense of unity within the small community to make and start something new.

4) People around me
Many thanks to the people around me who encouraged me when I was down throughout the entire process... Kevin, Isaac, the whole camp comm. Junnan, yada yada...

Some moments that I remember that happened during the camp.
a) Clement prayed for William in simple Chinese though he is totally not comfortable in it, and both were ministered.
b) Grace chose a Chinese song for her worship sesssion. I was very moved.
c) Chien Wen and Chin Yen enjoyed the camp.
d) Geoffrey and Brandon helping me whenever I needed help.
e) Christine and Tung, who always knew what is going on in my inner-man, and spoke to me accordingly.

Hmm..

I think that's all

Praise the Lord
