Failures?

I've failed in the battle, that I've set for myself. But my Lord, our God has not failed us. Perhaps He has all this in mind, to stimulate growth that is in us.

More than often, we don't see things in the light of His glory.
More than often, we see our problems as even bigger than God.
and more than often, our failures are amplified because of that.

the other day, I watched a short video.

The story starts with a young father, in his 30's carrying a toddler, about 1 year old. They walked to the forest, enjoying the scenery in the greens, the cricket singing, sun shining gently through the canopy. At that time, the toddler was being carried at the back of the father.

Suddenly, there was a thunder storm, unexpected, no sign of it. Both the father and the son were caught in the rain, initially, the son was just wondering what's happening. Then, it was the lightning and the thunder, louder and fiercer each time. He yelled, cried and screamed at the top of his lungs, daddy coudln't do much but to continue walking. Not to mention that the ground was slippery.

The father has decided to changed the posture of carrying the baby, he held him close to his heart, covering him. He whispered to him, "don't worry son, we will make it,I love you som......" The baby continues to cry.

If the baby were to remember this scene, he might ask, why do you have to let me go through the rain...
The father who was telling the story told us that though it was dangerous, he would never trade that experience with any other thing because it was one of the most intimate moment that he shared with his sons. I think that when the son sees the storm, he will also learn how to adapt to it, relying on the father's strength as well.

We may want to ask, God, why do you have to put us through all these.
Perhaps we should reflect, have we been relying on God's strength?
Does it give you this storm so as to prepare you for more storm in the future.

1 Corinthians 10:13b, He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear
Similarly, he will not give you a problem that cannot be solved.

Peace be with you......
